Wanderer

It doesn’t seem so long ago,
When I began to walk
Never had a friend or foe,
Just words of empty talk

What started off as impossible thoughts, oh so small
The thoughts turned to dreams;
It didn’t take long before,
The dreams began to fall

My heavy heart began to cry,
I thought I was going insane
Some strength was still left, I wanted faith
To ease and bear the pain

The jagged knives in the hands of life
Of which I was slain;
The empty grasslands where I belonged,
Give no flower nor heed the rain
